Educational Program to Improve Side Effects for People With HER2+ or HER2 Low Breast Cancer Receiving Targeted Therapy

Patient-Centered Care-Improving the Patient Experience in the Management of Adverse Events (AEs) Associated With Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADCs)

Purpose: To study whether educational programs can help improve how patients and clinicians recognize, discuss, and manage side effects from HER2 targeted antibody drug conjugates (ADC) treatments.

Who is this for?: People with stage I, stage II, stage III, or stage IV (metastatic) breast cancer with HER2 positive (HER2+) or HER2 low breast cancer, who are currently receiving HER2 targeted antibody drug conjugates (ADCs), or about to start treatment with a HER2 targeted ADC. What's involved?

<p class="seamTextPara"> You will receive the following: </p> <ul class="seamTextUnorderedList"> <li class="seamTextUnorderedListItem">Recorded educational videos </li> <li class="seamTextUnorderedListItem">Online surveys</li> <li class="seamTextUnorderedListItem">3 virtual visits, within 6 months</li></ul>

What's being studied?

<ul class="seamTextUnorderedList"> <li class="seamTextUnorderedListItem">An antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) is a type of therapy that combines an antibody that targets cancer cells with a therapy that can kill cancer cells.</li> <li class="seamTextUnorderedListItem">Because the antibody only targets cancer cells, the ADC does not kill normal cells, making it less likely to cause side effects.</li> <li class="seamTextUnorderedListItem">This is an all‑virtual study focused on education and communication. There are no study drugs given.</li></ul>
