Laser Therapy for Treatment of Vaginal Dryness in Breast Cancer Survivors

The Revitalize Trial: Reducing Vaginal Atrophy With Fractional CO2 Laser for Breast Cancer Survivors

Purpose: To study whether vaginal fractional CO2 laser therapy can reduce vaginal dryness, a side effect of breast cancer treatment. This trial will also look at whether the laser therapy can improve comfort during sexual activity and overall quality of life.

Who is this for?: Women with stage 0 (DCIS), stage I, stage II, or stage III breast cancer, who completed primary treatment at least 12 months ago, have vaginal dryness (rated 4 or higher on a 0–10 scale) that has been present for at least 3 months, and are postmenopausal (naturally or due to cancer treatment, including ovarian suppression). May be receiving ongoing adjuvant endocrine therapy (such as an aromatase inhibitor or tamoxifen, with or without ovarian suppression). View full eligibility criteria
